There are 3 types of respiratory protection masks:

FFP1 mask: this is the lowest performance level to be considered a protective mask. This mask has an efficiency of at least 80% against particles that are spread through the air. The side leakage (around the face) should not exceed 22%. This mask is used, among other things, when there is norovirus.
FFP2 mask: Is the average category of protective masks and has an efficiency of 95%. The side leakage should not exceed 8%. This mask is used, among other things, when tuberculosis is present.
FFP3 mask: This class offers the highest protection and has a minimum efficiency of 99%. The side leakage should not exceed 2%. This mask is used, among other things, when working with cytostatics.

The face masks do not completely eliminate the risk of contracting diseases and infections.
